Accountant II

About the role

TSR Consulting is seeking an Accountant II for a five-month W2 contract with potential for extension, working onsite in Los Angeles, California. This role supports content licensing accounting, including contract analysis, revenue recognition, period-end close, and financial reporting. You will interpret complex licensing agreements, validate accounting transactions, reconcile balances, and investigate foreign exchange and forecast variances. The position works closely with Deal Management and IT to maintain accurate financial data and support accounting system updates. Ideal candidates bring three to six years of relevant accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with enterprise general ledgers and accounting sub-systems. Entertainment industry experience and CPA certification or progress toward certification are preferred. Compensation is $45 to $55 per hour, with overtime as needed to meet deadlines.

What you'll do

• Analyze licensing agreements, calculate license fees, and validate contractual payment terms.
• Execute monthly and quarterly close, post journal entries, and reconcile trial balances and clearing accounts.
• Prepare foreign exchange variance, present value, bad debt, and revenue share analyses.
• Review PRISM and TVR contract data and transactions, maintain Pay TV deals, and coordinate system testing with IT.
• Manage entitlements, non-theatrical reconciliations, TREC invoicing, and aging reports.
• Support GAAP and statutory audits, maintain SOX controls, and prepare ad hoc financial reporting.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Three to six years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and period-end close.
• Experience with accounting systems such as PRISM, TVR, SAP, or Oracle and reporting tools such as COGNOS, BW, or SMARTVIEW.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, strong communication skills, and ability to manage competing deadlines and occasional overtime.
• CPA certification or progress toward certification and entertainment industry experience preferred.
