Research Lab Technician

About the role

Perform skilled mechanical and analytical work for the Center for Pulsed Power and Power Electronics. Help develop, fabricate, and operate experimental systems while coordinating research projects, collecting data, documenting results, and supporting facility operations.

What you'll do

• Develop, fabricate, and operate experimental systems
• Lead research data collection and documentation
• Support reporting to external sponsors
• Coordinate with students, technicians, machinists, research staff, faculty, and external partners
• Support daily operations of the Center for Pulsed Power and Power Electronics
• Coordinate and complete research laboratory projects
• Potentially supervise subordinate employees

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience, or a combination of education and related experience totaling six years
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
• Continued eligibility for access to critical infrastructure systems or research
• Ability to comply with applicable security and compliance requirements
