Vice President, Java Full Stack Engineer

About the role

BNY is seeking a Vice President, Java Full Stack Engineer to join its CCE team in Lake Mary, Florida, within Seminole County. This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership to deliver scalable, secure applications for a global financial services organization. You will build client-side and server-side solutions, guide technical discussions, and collaborate across engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong Java, Spring Boot, REST, and Angular experience, along with a commitment to automated testing and continuous improvement. Working in an Agile environment, you will help strengthen engineering practices, manage technical debt, and support frequent, reliable releases. What you'll do

• Build scalable full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Angular.
• Develop automated tests and participate in code reviews to improve software quality.
• Integrate software components while applying security and privacy principles.
• Guide technical discussions and oversee development work across the team.
• Maintain technical documentation, address technical debt, and improve application reliability.
• Collaborate across engineering teams and participate in Agile ceremonies to deliver frequent releases.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of full stack development experience.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, REST, microservices, and event-driven architecture expertise.
• At least 3 years of experience with Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Cypress, Selenium, or similar test automation tools, plus Git and CI/CD.
• Strong communication skills and Agile experience; financial services, relational databases, and test-driven development experience preferred.
