About the role
Google is seeking a Land Development Manager to guide the development and long-term stewardship of owned data center sites and supporting infrastructure. Within Infrastructure Construction & Asset Management, you will bridge the gap between land acquisition and construction readiness, helping deliver capacity on schedule and within budget. This role partners with engineering, construction, legal, and capacity planning teams to secure land-use entitlements, negotiate utility agreements, and coordinate off-site infrastructure. You will serve as a primary liaison with local jurisdictions and utility providers, resolving development risks and supporting reliable campus operations throughout the asset lifecycle. Success requires strong negotiation skills, practical knowledge of land development, and the ability to align complex infrastructure projects with business needs. Annual base compensation ranges from $176,000 to $256,000, plus a 20% target bonus, equity, and benefits.
What you'll do
- Negotiate utility infrastructure and extension agreements with providers and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Coordinate zoning, entitlements, easements, environmental mitigation, permitting, and impact studies.
- Prepare campuses for civil, utility, and building construction in alignment with delivery schedules.
- Manage infrastructure extensions to secure capacity, control costs, and protect project timelines.
- Lead relationships and negotiations with utility providers, local jurisdictions, and internal technical teams.
- Oversee site development activities from post-acquisition through the asset lifecycle.
What you'll bring
- Experience managing land development, infrastructure delivery, or complex real estate projects.
- Working knowledge of zoning, entitlements, easements, environmental permitting, and utility planning.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate utility agreements and manage external partner relationships.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, budgets, schedules, and development risks.
- Strong communication skills for presenting recommendations and resolving stakeholder concerns.
- Experience supporting data centers or comparable large-scale infrastructure developments.
