About the role

Jefferson Energy Cooperative is seeking a full-time Apparatus Technician to support the safe, reliable operation of its electrical apparatus and metering systems in Jefferson County, Georgia. This onsite position involves hands-on technical work, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance in a utility environment. Candidates should hold an associate degree or a two-year technical degree in a related field, although relevant experience may substitute for education. Experience with electrical apparatus, cooperative utilities, and JEC metering systems is preferred. A valid GDOT Medical Card must be obtained within six months of employment. The cooperative offers medical and life insurance, retirement programs, and paid time off. Employment is contingent on a post-offer drug and alcohol screen. What you'll do

• Inspect, test, and maintain electrical apparatus and related utility equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with repairs or replacements.
• Support maintenance and testing of cooperative metering systems.
• Document inspections, test results, repairs, and equipment conditions.
• Follow electrical safety procedures and coordinate work with utility crews.

What you'll bring

• Associate degree or two-year technical degree in a related field, or qualifying equivalent experience.
• Obtain a valid GDOT Medical Card within six months of employment.
• Electrical apparatus experience and previous cooperative utility experience preferred.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License and ITS and Distribution Switching certifications preferred.
• Experience with and basic understanding of JEC metering and apparatus systems preferred.
• Complete a required post-offer pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
