Behavior Therapist - School Based

About the role

School-based special education support role assisting classroom teachers and students with individualized education plans, behavior management, social interactions, self-care, and academic engagement. The schedule is Monday through Friday during school-day hours.

What you'll do

• Help licensed staff implement academic adaptations and individualized education plans
• Support students individually and in small groups
• Address students' self-care, social, and behavioral needs
• Implement behavior management plans
• Redirect challenging behaviors and facilitate social interactions
• Maintain a safe classroom environment
• Provide timely support during crisis situations
• Use varied learning methods to improve engagement and outcomes

What you'll bring

• Associate degree or higher from a US-accredited institution, or a high school diploma and ParaPro Assessment score of at least 456
• At least six months of experience supporting people with special needs
• Professional proficiency in English
• US work authorization without sponsorship
• Ability to remain on foot and move around the classroom
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and assist students safely
