About the role

Uline is seeking an experienced Java Software Developer to develop, deploy and maintain enterprise applications supporting its growing North American business. This full-time, onsite position is located at 2200 S. Lakeside Drive, Waukegan, IL 60085 and pays $90,000 to $128,000 per year. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to architectural decisions and mentor fellow developers while building reliable, responsive software using Java and the Spring framework. Uline is a family-owned distributor of shipping, industrial and packaging materials with more than 10,000 employees across 15 locations. What you'll do

• Design, test and deploy Java applications aligned with business needs and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and optimize application performance and responsiveness.
• Contribute to architectural design reviews and project planning.
• Mentor developers and support cross-functional development practices.
• Collaborate with the development team to maintain consistent processes and timely delivery.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or relevant programming education and experience.
• At least 4 years of hands-on Java development experience building enterprise solutions with Spring.
• Extensive experience with REST services, microservices, Git, JPA, SQL, JSON, SOAP and XML.
• Working knowledge of caching, service discovery, CI/CD tools and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to work onsite in Waukegan, Illinois.
• Complete a pre-employment hair follicle drug screening.
