Senior Machinist

About the role

World Tek Industries LLC is seeking a Senior Machinist for its precision manufacturing team in Romulus, Michigan. This hands-on role involves setting up and operating 3-to-5 axis CNC mills and lathes to produce complex components with tolerances as tight as 0.0002 inches. You will make at-the-machine G-code edits, collaborate on machining improvements, verify part quality, and mentor junior machinists. Candidates should bring extensive CNC experience, strong blueprint interpretation skills, and the ability to troubleshoot independently. Full-time opportunities are available on first shift starting at 6:00 AM and second shift starting at 4:30 PM, with a premium for second shift. Please indicate your preferred shift when applying. What you'll do

• Set up and operate 3-to-5 axis CNC mills and lathes for high-precision components.
• Edit G-code at the machine and collaborate with programmers to optimize tool paths and cycle times.
• Perform first-article inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Mentor junior machinists and troubleshoot complex setups while promoting safe work practices.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments for aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and other materials.

What you'll bring

• At least 7 years of experience in a high-precision CNC machining environment.
• Expert blueprint reading skills and a strong understanding of GD&T.
• Proficiency in geometry and trigonometry for calculating offsets and angles.
• Experience with CNC setup, G-code editing, and precision dimensional inspection.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and programming issues independently, particularly on second shift.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and remain active on the shop floor throughout the shift.
