Quality Inspector - 1st Shift

About the role

KYYBA is seeking a first-shift Quality Inspector for an onsite manufacturing opportunity in Livonia, Michigan. In this role, you will inspect materials and finished products, verify compliance with customer specifications, and maintain accurate inspection records. You will use precision measuring instruments, interpret engineering drawings, and help identify opportunities to improve production quality. The ideal candidate brings at least one year of inspection experience, strong attention to detail, and confidence communicating with production and quality teams. Experience programming and operating a DCC coordinate measuring machine is preferred. This position involves extended standing, regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, and required personal protective equipment, with reasonable accommodations available. What you'll do

• Inspect, test, and measure materials and products using precision gauges, micrometers, calipers, and CMM equipment.
• Record inspection results and identify, tag, or reject products that fail specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T symbols to verify product conformity.
• Calibrate or verify inspection instruments and maintain detailed records.
• Recommend production improvements and follow all workplace safety procedures.

What you'll bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of inspection experience using common hand gauges or equivalent experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, accurate recordkeeping, and cross-department communication.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.
• DCC CMM programming experience, ASQ certification, and availability for occasional weekend overtime preferred.
