Management Analyst, GS-0343-10

About the role

Support National Guard mission readiness as a Management Analyst, GS-0343-10, in New York. This position provides management with information and analysis to understand operational performance, resource constraints, and opportunities for improvement. You will assess manpower, equipment, materials, and facilities maintenance capabilities, explain their effects on unit effectiveness, and help resolve data system deficiencies. The role requires sound analytical judgment, familiarity with National Guard structures and procedures, and effective collaboration with coworkers and customers. Federal employment suitability requirements apply, and a two-year trial period may be required. Irregular hours, overtime, and emergency response duties may be necessary to meet operational needs. Recruitment or relocation incentives and relocation cost reimbursement may be authorized, subject to eligibility and agency approval.

What you'll do

• Analyze performance data to assess manpower, equipment, and facilities maintenance capabilities.
• Evaluate resource limitations and their impact on unit readiness and mission effectiveness.
• Provide management with clear assessments, findings, and recommendations.
• Identify data system problems, coordinate with automation monitors, and submit deficiency reports.
• Maintain effective working relationships and comply with environmental responsibilities.
• Support operational contingencies and essential personnel emergency assignments as required.

What you'll bring

• Experience, education, or training demonstrating analytical ability and knowledge of management principles.
• Knowledge of National Guard organizational structures, functions, procedures, and techniques.
• One year of specialized experience, education, or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
• Experience assessing maintenance resources, analyzing performance data, and resolving data system deficiencies.
• Ability to satisfy federal background investigation, applicable Selective Service requirements, and Lautenberg Amendment restrictions.
• Participation in direct deposit; valid driver's license and ability to obtain a security clearance within one year if required.
