This role is built for an experienced machinist who wants ownership of the complete process-from reviewing a print and planning the approach through programming, setup, prove-out, inspection and production. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys developing efficient toolpaths, improving workholding and cycle times, and producing high-precision components in a clean, climate-controlled facility. ️ What you'll be doing Program, set up and operate Okuma, Smart and Haas mill-turn machines, plus Smart and Haas mills Create, edit and optimize CAM toolpaths Interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings Select tooling, speeds and feeds for quality and efficiency Design and build fixtures and workholding solutions Troubleshoot machining, tooling and programming challenges Perform first-piece, in-process and final inspections Improve processes and reduce cycle times ️ Machines, controls & software Machines: Okuma, Smart and Haas mill-turn machines; Smart and Haas mills CAM: Fusion 360, Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM or similar Controls: Haas, Mazak, SMART or Fanuc experience is preferred Shop highlights AS9100/ISO-certified quality system High-precision aerospace and defense work Modern, well-maintained CNC equipment Collaborative small-team environment Freedom to improve machining strategies and processes Clean, climate-controlled facility Health, dental and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and tuition reimbursement What we're looking for Required: 8+ years of CNC machining experience with live-tool turning centers and mills Proven CAM programming experience Strong blueprint-reading skills and the ability to hold tight tolerances Ability to independently take a job from setup through production Dependable, detail-oriented approach to quality and problem-solving Preferred: Multi-axis machining experience, including 4th- or 5th-axis work GD&T application and interpretation Advanced fixture and workholding design Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience Trade-school, apprenticeship or equivalent training Why you'll like working here Your programming and machining knowledge will directly influence how work gets done.
