This is a hands-on setup machinist role for someone who wants ownership of the complete machining process-not just loading parts and pressing cycle start. You will be trusted to prepare workholding and tooling, touch off tools, adjust offsets, monitor machine performance, and confirm that finished parts meet the print. The work calls for a machinist who understands how setup decisions affect consistency, cycle time, and quality. You will work closely with programmers, quality, and shop leadership while running CNC mills and/or lathes. The environment suits someone who takes pride in reliable setups, clean work, and tight-tolerance results. Haas, Makino, Mori Seiki, and Mastercam experience are useful, but the core requirement is the ability to independently own setups and keep production moving. ️ What you'll be doing Complete CNC machine setups, including workholding, tooling, and offsets Touch off tools and make adjustments during production runs Operate CNC mills and/or lathes Read blueprints and interpret GD&T Inspect parts against specifications and address process variation Monitor machine performance and identify improvement opportunities Communicate with programmers, quality, and leadership Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area ️ Machines, controls & software CNC mills and CNC lathes Haas and Makino controls Haas, Makino, and Mori Seiki machine experience is a plus Mastercam exposure is relevant to the shop environment Shop highlights Full ownership of machine setup and production quality Hands-on tooling, workholding, and offset responsibility Tight-tolerance blueprint and GD&T work Cross-functional work with programming and quality Both milling and turning opportunities Clear focus on reliable output and continuous improvement Full-time role Hourly pay range of $25-$35 What we're looking for Required: 3+ years of CNC machining experience Ability to complete machine setups independently Hands-on experience touching off tools and adjusting offsets Strong blueprint-reading skills Comfort with tight-tolerance work and in-process inspection Preferred: Production or job-shop experience Experience with Haas, Makino, or Mori Seiki equipment Experience around Mastercam-programmed work Pay, benefits & schedule Pay: $25-$35 per hour Job Type: Full Time About Gró HR Consulting Gró HR Consulting provides recruitment and hiring support for growing organizations.
