The 5-Axis CNC Mill Machinist plays a critical role in producing complex, tight-tolerance medical components where precision, repeatability, and quality directly impact patient safety. The Work You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up, operate, and maintain 5-axis CNC milling machines with minimal supervision Perform tooling changes and manage offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy Run multiple machines and manage production throughput effectively Inspect parts using precision measurement tools and vision systems Hold tight tolerances required for medical manufacturing Deburr, buff, and finish parts to print specifications Troubleshoot machining issues independently and make necessary corrections Complete production documentation accurately to maintain full traceability Perform routine preventative maintenance and uphold 5S standards Support other machinists and assist with training as needed Machines, Controls & Inspection You'll work with advanced multi-axis equipment and inspection tools, including: Machines: Haas 5-Axis CNC Mills Matsuura 5-Axis CNC Mills Mikron 5-Axis CNC Mills Inspection Tools: Micrometers, calipers, bore gauges Depth and chamfer gauges Optical comparator Thread, ring, plug, and pin gages Keyence Vision System Materials You'll Work With Medical-grade metals and precision components (Specific materials vary by program and product line) What We're Looking For Required: 2+ years of 5-axis CNC milling experience (or journeyman-level skills) High school diploma or equivalent Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills Solid understanding of shop math and precision measurement Ability to work independently and follow written or verbal instructions Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling materials up to 30 lbs Preferred (Not Required): Medical device manufacturing experience Experience running multiple 5-axis machines Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S environments Why Machinists Like Working Here Machinists choose Viant Medical because of: Clean, climate-controlled, and highly organized shop environment Modern 5-axis equipment and tooling Stable night-shift schedule with shift premium Strong quality systems and clearly defined processes Competitive pay, excellent PTO, and day-one benefits Opportunities to grow into advanced machining or programming roles Work that directly supports life-saving medical technologies Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay: Competitive hourly pay (DOE) Shift Premium: % for 3rd shift Benefits (Day 1 Eligibility): Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match 3.5 weeks PTO Additional wellness and benefit programs Schedule: 3rd Shift (Night Shift) Full-time Overtime as needed Apply Interested machinists can apply directly through hireCNC.
