Kalman has been in business for more than 38 years and operates a 42,000-square-foot precision manufacturing facility with more than 40 CNC machines. The shop produces complex precision components for medical device, aerospace, instrumentation, automotive and other demanding industries. This is not an entry-level CNC position. You should be comfortable operating CNC mills, inspecting your own parts, working with precision measuring tools and recognizing when parts are out of tolerance. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, giving you a three-day weekend every week. ️ What You'll Be Doing Operate CNC vertical and/or horizontal machining centers Run assigned jobs safely and efficiently Inspect your own machined parts Use standard precision measuring equipment Monitor parts for dimensional accuracy and quality Identify when parts are out of tolerance Complete required inspection documentation Work with tooling, fixtures, indexers and related equipment Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Troubleshoot basic machining and production issues Help train other CNC operators as needed Communicate effectively with the production team ️ Machines & Equipment Kalman operates more than 40 CNC machines with extensive vertical, horizontal, 4-axis and 5-axis machining capabilities. Depending on assignment, you may work with CNC vertical or horizontal machining centers and related tooling, fixtures and indexers. Kalman's broader operation includes equipment from Mori Seiki, Haas, Matsuura, Brother and other leading CNC manufacturers. Shop Highlights 38+ years in precision manufacturing 42,000-square-foot facility 40+ CNC machines Extensive vertical, horizontal, 4-axis and 5-axis capabilities Modern CNC equipment and automation Medical device and aerospace manufacturing Prototype and production machining Four-day workweek Three-day weekends Clean, professional, family-owned work environment Materials You'll Work With Kalman machines a wide variety of metals and engineered plastics, including: Aluminum Stainless steel Titanium Zirconium PEEK Delrin Ultem 1000 Hydex PVC What We're Looking For Required: 3+ years of CNC mill operating experience preferred Experience operating CNC vertical and/or horizontal machining centers Ability to inspect your own parts Ability to effectively use standard precision measuring tools Ability to recognize when parts are out of tolerance Familiarity with tooling, fixtures and indexers Ability to complete inspection documentation Adequate shop math skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Good manual dexterity Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Availability to work the Monday-Thursday night shift Preferred: High school diploma, GED or equivalent Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment ISO 13485 manufacturing experience Ability to help train other machine operators Why You'll Like Working Here This is a good opportunity for an experienced CNC operator who wants steady night-shift hours in an established precision machining operation.
