About the role

Serve as a seamanship and deck operations specialist supporting small boats, cargo handling, flight deck operations, maritime security, equipment maintenance, and shipboard watchstanding.

What you'll do

• Stand watch as helmsman, lookout, and Boatswain's Mate of the Watch
• Operate small boats and support amphibious and flight deck operations
• Repair and maintain deck equipment and exterior ship surfaces
• Conduct underway replenishment and cargo handling
• Stand security watches in port and underway
• Participate in naval ceremonies
• Follow maritime safety procedures and coordinate with the deck department

What you'll bring

• Meet United States Navy enlistment standards
• High school diploma or equivalent for enlisted positions
• Meet applicable age, medical, vision, dental, body composition, and fitness standards
• Meet character and background screening standards
• Achieve required Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery scores
• Physical strength and stamina for demanding outdoor maritime work
• Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly
• Eligibility for a security clearance when required
