At a Glance Company: Midland Manufacturing (part of OPW, a Dover Company) Location: Skokie, Illinois Job Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $29.00 - $38.35/hr (based on experience) Shift: Day shift (with emergency/on-call support as needed) Overtime: As required for equipment uptime Experience Level: Intermediate / Senior Industry: Precision CNC Machining / Rail Tank Car Valves & Fittings Why This Role Exists This role exists to support long-term production stability and equipment reliability at Midland Manufacturing's Skokie facility. As a CNC Maintenance Mechanic, you play a critical role in keeping high-value CNC machining centers running safely, accurately, and on schedule. Your work directly supports the production of precision rail tank car valves and fittings used in critical hazardous and non-hazardous material transport. The Work You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machining centers Perform preventive maintenance (TPM) including lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes Diagnose mechanical failures involving bearings, gears, motors, and drive systems Conduct root cause analysis to reduce repeat downtime Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals Use precision measuring tools and diagnostic equipment to verify safe operation Support facility systems including industrial electrical, mechanical, and plumbing Respond to emergency repair situations to minimize production impact This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same.
