This position is ideal for a machinist who enjoys taking ownership of the entire machining process-from setup through finished part-and thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix job shop environment. What You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and operate Haas CNC milling machines Edit CNC programs at the machine as required Machine precision components from engineering drawings Select tooling, establish workholding, and set offsets Produce low-volume prototype and production parts Hold tight tolerances while maintaining high quality standards Perform first-piece and in-process inspections Use precision measuring equipment to verify finished parts Calculate dimensions and tolerances using machining math Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize production Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized Machines, Controls & Equipment You'll work with equipment such as: CNC Milling Haas VF-4SS (5-Axis) Haas VF-4SS (4-Axis) Haas VF-3SS Haas DM-2 DMG Mori DMU50 (5-Axis) Controls Haas CNC Controls Inspection Equipment Calipers Micrometers Indicators Precision measuring equipment Zeiss CMM and Keyence inspection systems (shop-wide) Materials You'll Work With Aluminum Stainless Steel Alloy Steels Titanium Inconel Other exotic alloys What We're Looking ForRequired Previous CNC milling experience in a precision job shop Ability to independently perform machine setups Experience editing CNC programs at the machine Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds Experience using precision inspection equipment Strong machining math skills Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing quality parts Preferred Experience with Haas machining centers Experience machining aerospace, defense, or oil & gas components Multi-axis machining experience Prototype machining experience Why Machinists Like Working Here Meta Tech offers experienced machinists an opportunity to work on challenging, precision parts-not repetitive production work.
