You'll program and run CMMs and vision systems from solid models, work hands-on with precision gaging, and see parts through from first-article inspection to final sign-off. What you'll be doing Perform dimensional verification of mechanical parts against engineering drawings and specifications Develop inspection plans using available equipment and inspection technology Program and operate coordinate measurement machines (CMMs) and vision systems directly from solid models Conduct manual gaging using micrometers, height gages, thread gages, and bore gages Track parts and record inspection results in SAP and ARAS Innovator Perform light to moderate lifting, up to a maximum of 50 lbs Machines, controls and software Coordinate measurement machines (CMMs) - programming and operation Vision systems Manual gaging tools: micrometers, height gages, thread gages, bore gages Inspection software exposure: Solidworks, Zeiss Calypso, CMM Manager, Polyworks, Zone3 SAP and PLM systems (ARAS Innovator) What we're looking forRequired Two-year technical school diploma or equivalent, plus five years of applicable experience Ability to work effectively in a team environment Computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to develop advanced inspection skills for mission-critical components Must be a U.S. citizen; selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance Preferred Knowledge of machining practices Ability to interpret engineering drawings Proficiency with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and ANSI Y14.5 standards Experience programming and operating coordinate measurement machines (CMMs) Familiarity with vision systems and manual gaging tools Experience with inspection software such as Solidworks, Zeiss Calypso, CMM Manager, Polyworks, or Zone3 SAP and PLM system experience Pay, benefits and schedule This role pays $38.53-$42.92 per hour.
