The shop's Haas fleet includes 5-axis machining centers run in 3+2, so there's genuine multi-axis work involved, not just straight 3-axis milling. It's job shop work, so the mix of parts and materials changes regularly rather than running the same job for months. Pay is $40-$50 per hour depending on experience. What you'll be doing Program CNC milling jobs in Fusion 360, from print or CAD file through finished toolpath Set up and run Haas vertical machining centers, including 5-axis machines operated in 3+2 positioning Select and set tooling, offsets, and workholding for each new job Read blueprints and GD&T callouts and machine parts to specification Perform first-article and in-process inspection using standard shop gauging (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) Troubleshoot setup and program issues during the run Move between jobs and materials as a job shop - aluminum, stainless, titanium, and engineering plastics Machines, controls and software Haas vertical machining centers (VF-Series and mini-mill) Haas 5-axis machining centers, run in 3+2 mode Fusion 360 for CAM programming What we're looking for Required: Experience programming, setting up, and running CNC milling machines independently Fusion 360 programming experience Comfortable working with 3+2 (multi-axis positioning) setups Ability to read blueprints and machine to print/GD&T Experience with standard shop inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) Preferred: Experience specifically with Haas controls Prior job shop / high-mix, low-volume experience Pay, benefits and schedule Pay: $40-$50 per hour, depending on experience Benefits: 3 weeks' paid vacation, 6 personal/sick days, and 12 paid holidays Schedule: 4.5-day work week; overtime often available About American Machine Company and apply American Machine Company is a full-service precision CNC machine shop in Westborough, MA, founded in 1968 and owned by partners Matthew Manella and Bruce Rososky.
